Adjunct Project
The Adjunct Project seeks to empower Graduate Center student-workers and contingent faculty at CUNY by serving as a resource to:
- Work in solidarity with labor struggles outside of CUNY;
- Raise consciousness about academic labor issues inside and outside CUNY;
- Provide political education to GC adjuncts about ways to address these issues; and
- Activate GC student-workers to improve their collective position as workers at CUNY.

Advocate
The Advocate is the student-run newspaper of the Graduate Center, CUNY, and is sponsored by the Doctoral and Graduate Students’ Council (DGSC).
Published six times per academic year, it serves CUNY graduate students as a general forum and as a source of news and information pertaining to their rights as well as their educational, cultural, political, and professional interests. The Advocate aims to publish thought-provoking articles that are of interest not only to those in the academy, but to the public more generally.
OpenCUNY
OpenCUNY is a student-run organization that serves students at the Graduate Center, CUNY, and is sponsored by the Doctoral and Graduate Students’ Council (DGSC).
Since its founding by Greg Donovan in 2008, OpenCUNY has hosted OpenCUNY.org as a participatory digital community and WordPress platform for GC students. Each semester, OpenCUNY also convenes conferences and informational events about open-source software and data privacy.
OpenCUNY coordinators are always exploring ways to make new digital tools available to GC students that will help us to research, teach, organize, and commune.
